#1 - Instructional Rounds
The most cost-effective professional development on the planet is just down the hall.
Instead of our normal meeting, each teacher contacted a colleague about visiting their classroom during our meeting time.
Each went to their respective classrooms.
Each observed their classroom for 25 minutes.
We then met, reflected, and compared notes.
“What amazed us?”
“What inspired us?”
“What do we want to import into our classrooms?”
We finished our one-period adventure with new ideas and new respect for our colleagues.
We committed to writing a thank you note for allowing us to visit the sacred space of another teacher’s classroom.
Priceless.
